Most charities have an ongoing challenge raising the funds they need for their services. It is so rare for one charity to demonstrate the enormous generosity by raising funds for another.
But that is exactly what the Brighton Table Tennis Club (BTTC) has done.
Last week BTTC handed over a cheque for £150 to support the work of BHT’s First Base Day Centre. First Base provides services that are essential for those sleeping rough in Brighton and Hove to maintain dignity and even life. BTTC runs regular table tennis sessions at First Base.
The money was raised through an exhibition match between pro-players Craig Bryan and Wen Wei Xu.
BTTC Founder and Director, Tim Holtam, said: “First Base does an amazing job for homeless people in our city, as all the people who use its services will tell you. We are privileged to work with it.”
I’ll return the compliment: BTTC is a unique organisation, one for which I have the utmost respect. It is led by Tim Holtam who is nothing but a force of nature. It is an honour and a privilege to work with Tim and with BTTC.
Thank you for your generosity.
